I have been working with felt from 1988. I have held a number of workshops for children and adults both in Hungary and abroad. I regularly participate in Hungarian and international exhibitions.
Years ago I experienced blindness at a personal level. It touched me and moved me deeply. Blind children made me realize the magic of touch, and taught me that our hands can convey a wide variety of messages, senses, impressions, and through our hands we experience and internalize sublime delicacies.
Ever since I have been trying to look and see with my hands, too; to touch the felt itself, and to express everything that I have learned from it. It is a refreshing experience to see and feel the energy this material represents and conveys.
My works reflect archaic traits, a kind of ancient wisdom, so that they mediate the energy of the earth, of nature, of feasts, thus becoming part of our everyday lives, giving their users and owners a sort of crutch, an internal security, something to hold on to.
My motives stem from our universal history, from earth, from water, from the trees, and from other paths of humanity. These are symbols which reflect my personality, where I can meet my own self, partly of ethnographic nature, partly rooted in different layers and fields of art.
I guess I live "close to the ground" at the beginning of the XXIst century, drilling through the paths I am doomed to walk, with a technique at the verge of rebirth.
